Overview

Many fleet leaders face the challenge of ensuring driver safety while also addressing concerns drivers may have about being monitored.

IntelliShift's AI dash cameras provide a solution that prioritizes safety, not surveillance, by helping drivers correct risky behaviors in real time through in-cab alerts and empowering proactive coaching. This technology offers an added layer of protection, capturing objective footage that can exonerate drivers from false claims or disputes, ultimately reducing legal risks. Paired with safety scorecards, fleet leaders can quickly spot coaching needs for drivers and branches, enabling targeted interventions and tracking progress toward safety goals.

Viewing the AI Dash Cam Service Module

To view the AI Dash Cam service module, select the “AI Dash Cam” service module on the left-hand navigation panel.

Accessing AI Dash Cam

To view the AI Dash Cam module, you must have the "AI Dash Cam" Permissions toggle active in your user settings. Only Account Administrators and Administrators can change your permissions. 

To allow a user to view the AI Dash Cam module, follow these steps:

Choose the correct permissions for the user.

• AI Dash Cam Toggle (1)
  • Activating this toggle will allow access to the AI Dash Cam service module.
• Service Module Permissions Toggles (2)
  • Read: View dashboard and safety events.
  • Coaching: View dashboard and safety events. Update coaching status.
  • All: View dashboard and safety events. Update coaching status and request videos.
• Must Watch Full Video Checkbox (3)
  
  • This requires the user to watch the full event video before updating the coaching status.
• Operator Scorecard Management Toggle and Permissions (4)
  • Read: View scorecard settings
  • Read/Write: View scorecard settings and create a new scorecard.
  • All: View scorecard settings, create a new scorecard, edit current scorecards.

AI Dash Cam Navigation Overview

The top navigation bar includes

• Dashboard (1)
  • Customize your dashboard to manage by exception. Display trends and filter safety scores by date range, branch, tags, and more.
• Events (2)
  • Review all recorded safety events, request videos, download videos, update event coaching status.
• Alerts (3)
  • Create and manage admin and operator alerts.
• Tools (4)
  
  • Configure camera settings and sensitivity (only available to Account Admins for "All" AI Dash Cam permissions)
  • View and manage operator scorecards (only available to those with additional permissions)

AI Dash Cam Setup Checklist

For setup best practices, please review the checklist below. These are steps in which your Implementation Project Manager, Account Manager, and/or Customer Success Team will guide you through.

Prep Steps:

• Ensure your IntelliShift fleet list is accurate
  • Administration > Assets
• Ensure your IntelliShift branches are accurate
  • Administration > Branches
• Ensure your IntelliShift operators list is accurate
  • Administration > Operators
• Ensure you have a system in place to keep operator and asset pairings accurate and up to date.  Please speak with your account manager to identify the best way for you to manage asset/operator pairing. 
  • IntelliShift offers multiple ways to do this:
    • Manual Assignment
    • Automated Digital Inspection Asset/Operator Pairing
    • Company card or key fobs
  • Please speak with your account manager to identify the best way for you to manage asset/operator pairing.

• Send a copy of your IntelliShift contract to your insurance company in order to reduce your costs.

AI Dash Cam Setup:

• Ensure you have communicated expectations and goals with your key stakeholders, safety team, leaders, and drivers.
  • At IntelliShift, we provide consulting with leading industry expert Erin Gilchrist who can help you in crafting your message.
• Ensure your safety team has the correct permission toggles to manage the AI Dash Cam module and the Operator Scorecard.
• Ensure that your Camera Configurations are correct.
  • We recommend leaving "in cab alerts" off for a short period of time in order to get a baseline score. Then, turn on in cab alerts to coach drivers in real time. See the difference in-cab coaching can make!
• Create an initial baseline scorecard.
• Customize your AI Dash Cam dashboard to monitor progress. If desired, set the custom dashboard for the whole company.
• Install hardware.
