Overview
The AI Dash Cam enhances driver safety by providing real-time coaching and high-quality video recording of road incidents and driver behavior allowing managers to review incidents, exonerate drivers, and improve training programs.
In this article, we will review where to find videos after a safety event is triggered either automatically or manually by a driver. Requested videos will also display within the AI Dash Cam > Events.
Please note:
- Events are saved in the events tab for six months. It is important you download the video if you wish to keep it.

View Events
To view your motor carriers, follow these steps:
- In the left-hand navigation, select the "AI Dash Cam” service module.
- In the top navigation, select "Events."
Event Navigation Overview
The Events tab features include:
- Filter and Search (1)
- Period: Filter events by date range.
- Branches: Filter events by branch.
- Asset Tags: Filter events by assets/operators with specific tags.
- Asset: Filter events by specific assets. (Please note: you can type in this field)
- Operator: Filter events by specific operators.
- Event: Filter to only specific events.
- Video Statuses (2)
- Filter by video status.
- Request Video (3)
- Request a video that falls outside the parameters of a triggered safety event. Learn more about video requests in our article "Request Video and Review Status."
- Mass Coaching (4)
- Change the coaching status of an event. Learn more about coaching in our article "Update Event Coaching Status."
- Download as CSV (5)
- Refresh Events (6)
- Change view (7)
- Card View: Optimized for quick review of video footage and updating video status.
- Detail View: Optimized for detailed review of detailed footage.
- List View: Optimized for viewing and organizing all event details.
Video Statuses
Video statuses help you stay organized and understand the next action needed.
Events automatically triggered by safety events or manually triggered by the operator will display in the events view as "New." Once you review the event, you can change the coaching status to reflect what has been done or what's needed.
Coaching Statuses:

No Coaching Needed: This is a manual change by an office user. It indicates that no coaching is needed.
- Please note, when you mark a video as "No Coaching Needed," the safety point deduction defined by your company scorecard will be granted back to the operator.
- Coaching Needed: This is a manual change by an office user. It indicates that the behavior in the event is considered risky and the operator needs further guidance.
- Coached: This is a manual change by an office user. It indicates that a conversation with the operator has taken place regarding the observed risky behavior.
Video Request Statuses:
- Queued: Video has been successfully requested. The asset is not in operation and/or the asset doesn't have sufficient cell reception.
- Pending Upload: Video has been successfully requested and the camera is queueing the video to be uploaded.

Uploading: Video has been successfully requested, the asset's ignition is on, and the video is currently being uploaded.
- Upload times may vary due to cell reception.
- Video Not Available: Video is not available. For example, an asset may not have been in operation at requested video time/date. Therefore, the camera was not recording. If you believe the asset was in operation, please contact our support team.
Change View
You can toggle your event viewing experience using the upper right-hand menu.
Card View
Card View within AI Dash Cam delivers an optimized experienced for users who are looking for the most efficient way to review events, update their status, and coach effectively.
In Card View, you can:
- Hover over the event to play the video. (1)
- Click on the video to open the video in a pop-up window. Use this window to download the video by clicking the vertical three dots on the bottom right-hand side of the video.
- View video title (2)

- View date and time the event triggered (4)
- Click on the video status to update (5)

List View
List View within AI Dash Cam delivers an optimized experienced for users who want to view all details relating to the event.
In List View, you can:
- Review Event Data (1)
- Asset
- Operator
- Event
- Speed at time of Event
- Date Reported
- Status
- Coached By
- Recent Comment
- Please note: you can add additional columns of information using the "gear" icon.
- Choose to mass coach or request video ("Quick Actions") (2)
