Overview
Landmarks provide fleet professionals with the ability to mark specific points of interest for ease of viewing, reporting, and alerts.
You may already have a list of landmarks for branches, employees, customers, or other categories. In this article, learn how to use the IntelliShift template to import your landmarks.

Access Landmarks
To view and manage Landmarks, follow these steps:
- In the left-hand navigation, select the "Telematics” service module.
- In the top navigation, select "Tools."
- In the dropdown menu, select "Landmarks."
- Select "Landmarks" once more.
Import Landmarks
In order for IntelliShift to import your landmarks, you will first need to fill out a template. Watch the video below to learn more.
Import Template Fields
To download the Landmark Import template, follow these steps:
- In the left-hand navigation, select the "Telematics” service module.
- In the top navigation, select "Tools."
- In the dropdown menu, select "Landmarks."
- Select "Landmarks" once more.
- Select "Import Landmarks"
The Landmark Import template has 13 columns. Follow the directions below to properly fill out your template.
Please note,
- Do NOT change the text within the header row (Row 1).

For the landmark to be correctly plotted on the map, you must provide either
- Street address and Zip code, (specifying City and State will increase the accuracy of the lookup)
- or Latitude and Longitude.
Template Columns:

- (Optional) AccountNo can contain any identifier that uniquely identifies this location in your backend system, but it is not required. If you choose to provide AccountNo, you can also choose to include it in the landmark name next to LocationName.
- (Optional) CategoryID is optional and lets you to distribute the landmarks into different categories. All your available landmark categories and their IDs can be viewed in the "Landmark Categories" tab.
- City
- Latitude
- LocationName is the name of the landmark. This name will be displayed within Intellishift for those who have access to the landmark. For example, the landmark name will show in place of the address on the Fleet Status page, the map, reports, and more.
- Longitude
- (Optional) Notes field can be used to provide useful internal information about the location in under 200 characters.
- (Optional) RadiusID allows you to specify different radii for the provided landmarks. Please view the Import Landmarks instructions above to learn more about the RadiusID.
- Please note, "150 Feet" (Radius ID 3) will typically cover an acre plot. Please consider including an accurate radius size to ensure landmarks are useful in determining the location of asset.
- State
- (Optional) SubGroupID (Branch ID) provides means to assign landmarks to a particular branch, effectively blocking other branches from viewing them. All your available branches and their IDs can be viewed in the "Branches" tab.
- (Optional) TankNo is a numeric field that allows you to distinguish between multiple locations for the same account.
- Zip
After the template has been filled out, please submit the file to support@intellishift.com and cc your account manager.
