Best Practices
- When you are implementing IntelliShift, create accounts first for the core team working with IntelliShift.
- Once your core team is comfortable with IntelliShift, create other users. Ensure that these users are already aware of the purpose for IntelliShift and how they should use the application.
- Limit the number of Account Administrators.
- Account Administrators have access to all branches by default. In other words, they can view, edit, and create users, operators, branches, and tags. They can also update asset information. Typically this role should be for an office user managing upkeep of asset information, users, operators, branches, and tags.
- To save time, create role-based template users. Then, when new employees join, simply duplicate the template account and update select permissions as needed.
- For example, you could create a template for the safety team:
- For email, use the Role@yourcompanydomain (e.g. "SAFETY@intellishift.com")
- For first name, use the role title (e.g., "SAFETY")
- For last name, type "TEMPLATE" to make it easy to search for all template users.
- For type, select the type relevant for the role. For most roles, this would be a "Regular" user.
- For branch, make any selection. When you duplicate the account, you will want to update the branch.
- For permissions, select the permissions relevant to the role.
- Define a standard process for user upkeep. Ask yourself . . .
- Who should update users as employee join or leave the company?
- What permissions should an employee have?
- How should new employees learn about IntelliShift?
- For example, you could create a template for the safety team:
