Landmarks within Silent Passenger provide users with the ability to set specific points of interest. These points of interest can be used to identify assets arrival and departure times from these specific locations. Landmarks can be created manually within Silent Passenger or be imported in bulk with the help of the IntelliShift Support Staff.
Creating a Landmark
- Within IntelliShift, click the Silent Passenger Application
- Within Silent Passenger on the Top Bar, click Add Landmarks
- You will be brought to the landmark creation screen.
- From the Left-hand side of the page, there is a search function to assist the user in creating a landmark.
- Type the location of where you want to create the landmark. Silent Passenger utilizes address help functions to assist the user in choosing the appropriate location.
- Once the location has been selected on the map, a blue pin will be placed on the location.
- From the Left-hand side of the map, the user will fill in the appropriate details.
- Landmark Name - User-definable field which lets the user set the name of the landmark. This name will be displayed within Fleet Status, Map View, & Reporting when the asset is stopped at the specific landmark.
- Account Number - A unique value that is used to set apart landmarks from one another which may be defined by the same landmark name.
- Branch - The Branch function allow this landmark to be specifically defined for a single branch, or if left as Shared Landmark.
- Single Branch - If the landmark is defined to a single branch, only assets within that branch will be displayed as stopped at that landmark, all other assets outside that branch will not be displayed at a landmark.
- Shared Landmark - This represents that all assets will be displayed as stopped at this landmark.
- Category - This allows users to assign landmarks to specific groupings. This allows users to run reports by Categories of landmarks or even display these landmarks on the map view to see the correlation between their assets and the displayed landmarks.
- Radius - The Radius is utilized to device how large or small of the space that the asset needs to be within. The Radius should be created large enough to cover the specific parking area where the assets would be located. the Radius is defined in feet, starting at 50ft and going up to 1,000ft.
- Show Current Vehicles Location - Using the Show Current Vehicle locations button will place all assets on the map to make creating the landmark much easier.
- Click Add Landmark
Managing Landmarks
- Within IntelliShift, click the Silent Passenger Application
- Within Silent Passenger on the Top Bar, click Manage Landmarks
- Within Manage Landmarks it will display all of the created Landmarks
- Users can select the Category of landmarks to display in the list or search for a specific landmark by name.
- The List of Landmarks display the following information
- Landmark Name - The user-defined Landmark Name
- Street - The residing address of the landmark
- City - The residing City of the landmark
- State - The residing State of the Landmark
- Zip Code - the Zip Code of the Landmark
- Radius - How large of an area around the address will be registered as within the Landmark location
- To the right of the Landmark, it provides the user with the ability to Edit the landmark and Delete the landmark.
- At the bottom of the list of landmarks, users will be able to change the category of landmarks. To do this, users must select the landmarks that they ant to change the categories on, then click Change Category where the user will be provided the full list of categories where they will be able to select the new category.
Creating Landmark Categories
- Within IntelliShift, click the Silent Passenger Application
- Within Silent Passenger on the Top Bar, click Manage Landmarks
- On the Top Orange bar of Manage Landmarks, click Manage Categories.
- Once within the Categories page, on the Top-Right of the page, click Add Landmark Category
- First, the user will choose the icon of the landmark category by clicking on the Box displaying "Click here to choose Category Icon"
- Then the user will Name the category.
- The user will be provided with a list of users which will provide them with the ability to select what users should have access to this category. Select all the users that apply.
- Click Save.
Importing Landmarks
- Within IntelliShift, click the Silent Passenger Application
- Within Silent Passenger on the Top Bar, click Manage Landmarks
- From the Top Left of the screen click Import
- On the Pop-Up click Get Template (The Template needs to contain the following information)
- Keep the header row with the column names
- For the landmark to be successfully plotted it must contain Street, City, State, and Zip or Latitude and Longitude.
- Location Name is required
- Account Number can contain any identifier that uniquely identifies this location in your backend system. this field is optional.
- TankNo is an optional numeric field that allows you to distinguish between multiple locations for the same account
- Notes field can be used to provide useful information about the location. Must be under 200 characters
- RadiusID is optional and allows you to specify different radii for the provided landmarks.
- CategoryID is optional and lets you distribute the landmarks into different categories. (Click the Landmark Categories Tab to see a list of your Categories and their ID Numbers)
- SubgroupID also referred to as Branch ID, this is as well an optional field that provides the ability to assign landmarks to a particular branch.
- After the template has been filled out, please submit the file to Support@vehicletracking.com.
- If you do not supply Category ID's or Radius ID's on the file please specify what category and how large of a radius you would like them to be.
