IntelliShift's Garmin Integration allows users to open a 2-way communication channel from IntelliShift to the operator within the cab, as well provides the user the ability to dispatch stops to the operator for on-demand navigation.
Accessing Garmin Messaging
- Log in to IntelliShift
- From the left menu click Garmin Integration
- This will bring the user to the Garmin Message Page.
Sending a Message
- Within the Garmin Message screen, expand the branch to display the list of assets to send a message to.
- Select the Asset(s) to send the message to.
- Type out the message(199 character limit, per message)
- Click Send
- With the ignition of the asset being On, the message will be delivered immediately, if the ignition is off the message will be delivered as soon as the Ignition is turned on.
Viewing Sent Messages
- Within the Garmin Message page, below the send a new message is a list of the sent messages.
- Users can filter the messages to display messages sent to an asset or a user, as well as filter by a Date Range.
- The grid of messages contains the following Items:
- Garmin Screen Icon
- Clicking the Garmin icon allows the user to see the full details of the message sent as well as the responses from the operator of the asset.
- To - Displays the name of the asset that the message was sent to.
- From - Displays the name of the user that the message was sent from.
- Message - displays the message that was sent to the operator
- Answer - The response from the operator.
- Message Status - The Message Status will display the status of Sent or Received
- Sent - The message has been put into the queue for delivery
- Received - The message has been received within the Garmin of the asset.
- Received - The Date & Time that the message was received.
- Sent - The Date & Time that the message was Sent.
- Delete - Provides the ability for a user to remove the message from within the Garmin Message page.

Notifications of New Messages
Within IntelliShift, a new message from the operator of an asset will automatically trigger an on-screen notification from within IntelliShift. This on-screen notification will allow the user to engage and send a message back to the operator from right within the alert.

Accessing Send a Stop
- Log in to IntelliShift.
- From the left menu click Garmin Integration.
- This will bring the user to the Garmin Message Page.
- Within the Garmin Message page, at the top of the page on the orange bar, click Send a Stop.
Sending a Stop
- Within the Send a Stop tab, enter the location of the stop.
- Users can type an address, landmark, or a place.
- Select the Asset to send the stop to.
- Enter the name of the stop
- Enter additional notes within the Notes field to provide additional information needed for the stop.
- Click Send
Viewing the Status of Stops
There are 2 ways to view the status of stops sent to an asset within IntelliShift
- Within the Silent Passenger application click Map View. Within the Map View, pull up the Asset Information Bubble. Once within the Asset information bubble click the Dispatch Tab.
- Below the Send a Stop, users can see the status of all of the stops that have been sent.
Once the stop has been delivered to the asset there are 3 statuses that are monitored to track the progress of the stop.
- Delivered - The stop has been delivered to the Garmin
- Active - The stop has been marked as Active from the Operator. This represents that the operator is on their way to that stop.
- Complete - This represents that the stop has been marked as complete by the operator. Once the operator has arrived at the location, the operator will be able to complete the stop, and then upon turning the assets ignition back on the operator will receive a prompt on the Garmin to mark the stop as complete.
