User Types & User Permissions Follow

IntelliShift Administration provides users with the ability to granularly assign access to different applications and features from within the product. In this knowledge base article, we will define each of the user types as well as the permissions that users have the ability to assign. 

User Types

• Account Administrator - Setting up a user with this user type will provide the user access to all apps and features of the IntelliShift platform.
  • This user can create or modify users with full access to the platform as well.
  • This user can Add or Manage any branches within the platform
  • This user can manage what Assets reside within which branch
  • This user has the ability to delete, manage, or add new operators to the platform.  
• Administrator - Setting up a user with this type will provide the user access to manage select parts of the platform. This user is usually provided access to a limited set of branches 
  • This user can create users up to the Administrator type and assign these users to the branches in which they too have access to.
  • This user can modify users assigned as Regular Users or Administrators of which have access to the branches that the user has access to. (The Administrator will not be able to edit users with the User Type of Account Administrator)
  • The user can manage assets that reside within their branches that they have access to. 
  • This user can create new branches
  • This user can add, modify, and delete drivers that are assigned to the branches that this user has access to. 
  • This user will have access to all applications and features within the IntelliShift product. 
• Regular User - Setting up a user with this type will provide the user access to select applications and features within the IntelliShift product.
  • This user can be assigned View Only Access to select Administrative objects (Assets, Operators, Users, Branches)
  • This user will be provided a select set of application access which will be controlled by the User Permissions.
  • This user type does not have the ability to Modify, Add or Delete any of the Assets, Operators, Users, Branches within the system.
  • The Access to the platform is granted from a user of either an Administrator or Account Administrator   

User Permissions

• Silent Passenger - This provides users access to the Silent Passenger application within IntelliShift. With this permission selected the user will be provided access to the Map View and Fleet Status features of the application. 
  • Reporting - This enables the Reporting feature within the Silent Passenger platform providing the user to access historical records. 
  • Alerts - This enables the Alerts feature within Silent Passenger. It will provide the user with the ability to create real-time notifications of specific events.
  • Geofencing - Enabling this feature will provide the user with the ability to enable Geofences on the map as well as see Geofence based report functions. As well this feature can be limited by providing the user's access to select Geofence categories. 
    • Create - This provides the user with the ability to create geofences within existing geofence categories.
    • Full Control - This user is provided the ability to manage geofences within the select set of categories that they were provided access to. This does as well provide the user with the ability to create new categories.
  • Landmarks - This feature provides the user with the ability to display Landmarks on the maps, as well as receive Landmark based alerts or as well look at landmark-based historical data. This feature can be limited further by providing the user with only select landmark categories.
    • Create - This will provide the user with the ability to create landmarks within the existing categories that they have been provided access to.
    • Full Control - This will give the user the ability to modify existing landmarks within the categories that they have been granted access to. This permission will also allow the user with the ability to create new categories.
  • Driver Texting - This will provide the user with the ability to send one-way messaged to operators. 
  • Driver Assignment - This will provide users with the ability to make manual operator assignments. Manual operator assignments will overwrite existing assignments. 
  • SP Quickview Management - This permissions will grant users access to manage the SP Quickview features. This provides access to generate new Quickviews, edit existing Quickviews, as well as managing the Quickview Branding. 
  • Mobile Access - Enabling this permission for the user provides the user access to the Silent Passenger mobile application.
• Inspect - This feature provides the user with access to the Inspect App within the Intellishift Platform. Users will be able to view the Inspect Dashboard.
  • Form Templates Read -This provides user view only access to the "Form Builder" tab. Users can view forms and their components. 
  • Form Templates Read/Write This permission allows the user to view, edit, and create forms. This permission will not allow a user to delete the existing forms.
  • Form Templates All -This permission allows a user to view, edit, create, and delete forms.
  • Inspections Read - This provides user view only access to the "Inspections" tab. This permission allows the user to view, manage, and download completed inspections. 
  • Inspections All - Currently this permission does not add any additional permissions. It is the same as the "Read" permissions. 
  • Issues Read -This provides user view only and sharing access to the "Issues" tab. This permission allows the user to view and download issues. Users can also share the issue with a mechanic.
  • Issues Read/Write -This permission allows the user to view, update (add comments, add attachments, update status) and share issues. 
  • Issues All -Currently this permission does not add any additional permissions. It is the same as the "Read/Write" permissions. 
• Fuel Manager - This feature provides the user access to the Fuel Card Dashboard
  • Fuel Card Read - This gives the user the ability to access the Fuel Card Dashboard 
  • Fuel Card Assign - Granting this permission it provides users with the ability to control the assignment of the fuel cards to Assets or Operators.
  • Fuel Card All - This feature provides the user with the ability to create / edit / delete fuel cards within the IntelliShift platform. 
• Administration - The Administration feature provides users assigned the Regular User type access to the Administration application within Intellishift. However regular users will not be able to make any modifications.  This will only appear for User Types of Regular Users
  • View Assets - This will grant the user access to view assets within the branches that the users has been provided access to. 
  • View Users - This will provide the user access to the users that share the same branch access that they have been granted.
  • View Operators - This provides the user with access to Operators within the branch assignment that they have been granted.
  • View Branches - This will provide the users with visibility into the branches that the user has access to.
• Driver Identification - This feature will provide the user with the ability to Key-Fob screen within the Silent Passenger application. If the user is an Administrator or Account Administrator this will grant them to assign the key fobs to operators. 
• Vehicle Service - Enabling this feature will grant users access to the Vehicle Service application within IntelliShift. Regular users will only be granted to see Service jobs that are created by themselves. Administrators or Account Administrators will be granted to see all service jobs for assets of the assigned branches. 
• Hours of Service - This feature provides the user with the ability to access the Hours of Service application within IntelliShift. 
  • Read Hours of Service - This provides the User the ability to access the Hours of Service Dashboard 
  • Read/Write HOS Records - Enabling this permission allows the user to make edits for a driver's log to be sent to the operator for approval. 
  • HOS All - Enabling this feature will provide the user with access to manage Motor Carriers, Hours of Service Rules, and DVIR templates
• Garmin Messaging/Routing - This will grant the user access to the Garmin Messaging and Garmin Routing application within IntelliShift.
• SP Camera - Enabling the SP Camera feature will grant the user access to view the video events within the IntelliShift platform as well as request on-demand video from the IntelliShift Dashcam solution.
